Journey back in time to a
period in history when an entirely different world existed in Canada. Long
before Europeans arrived, a rich, diverse culture existed among the
various Native Nations that occupied the lands which later became known as
Canada. It was a time when the earth was sacred, when nature and
Native were as one, when to hunt was a skill and a way of life, when one
only took from the land that which he needed and paid homage for that
which had been received. An age when time itself seemed to stand
still and remain unchanged for hundreds of years.
Each title in this video series looks at a different region of Canada and the Tribes that live there. Each video looks at shelter, methods of transportation, culture, customs, art, society, wealth, clothing, utensils, weapons and lifestyles. Each title approx. 15 - 20 minutes. Grades 4 to 8 Public Performance
